BELIEF LEADS TO ACTION? - Matthew 8:5-13
What Does it Say?  v10-12 A Roman centurion asks Jesus to heal his servant.  He does not feel worthy to have Jesus come to his house, but asked Jesus to heal his servant by telling the sickness to leave.  He recognized that Jesus had authority.  Jesus commended him for his faith and told him there would be Gentiles in heaven, but many Israelites would not be there because they lacked faith.
What Does it Mean?  The centurion went to Jesus looking for help for his servant who was sick and Jesus healed him.  Do we come to God on behalf of our pre-christian family and friends believing that He can heal their spiritual blindness and make Himself real to them?  Even though the centurion was a Roman and had not been following Jesus, he believed that Jesus had the authority to answer his prayer.   The criteria for Jesus to answer prayer is to come to Him with our needs and believe he has the power to meet them.  He answers with a yes, no, or wait, but He always answers.  We claim to have faith in God's power and yet we hold back from walking in it because we are afraid and don't really believe.  If you really believed God had power to meet yours and others needs, how would you live?  How would you live if you didn't really believe?  How are you living?
