DON'T GIVE WHAT YOU CAN'T TAKE - Matthew 7:1-6

What Does is Say?  v1-5 Don't criticize others unless you want to be criticized yourself.  Stop being critical yourself before you get upset by someone else's criticism.

What Does it Mean?  If a person lives with criticism, they will become critical themselves.  If you are living with criticism, it won't be long until you are critical yourself.  If you are critical, it won't be long before those around you will also be critical.  When you are criticized, first ask God if there is something you need to change and do what you can to change it.  If criticism is ongoing and continual, you may need to confront the critical person in love.  If you do nothing, criticism will continue and discouragement and depression may become a problem for you.  When confrontations are needed, do so with loving firmness.  Keep in mind that it takes five positive comments to offset one negative one.
