I finally have time to get excited about our journey to Jordan and Israel. I have yet to begin packing but I think I've done this enough that I know what to bring and what not to bring. What not to bring is actually the harder of the decisions. I typically pack too much. This time (I am telling myself) it's going to be different. I'm going to pack light. It's a good illustration for life with Jesus. Pack light. We are just traveling through this world. Don't get weighed down by the things of this life. (There was no charge for that little sermonette.)
Here's the plan. The Teufels have graciously offered to drive us to Victoria where we will board our flight to YYC at 7:10 pm on Saturday. We then catch the redeye to Toronto at 10:50 pm. We touch down in Toronto at 6:14 am and catch a shuttle to a hotel where we will snag a few quick winks before grabbing the 2:30 pm shuttle back to the airport where we will get ready to go through the very tight security process to board the El Al flight to Tel Aviv, Israel at 5:45 pm on Sunday.
Our first order of business, once we land, is to head across the Jordanian border and get to the Dead Sea Holiday Inn where we will be for four nights. I'm thankful that we will get to rest for the better part of a day before our reigorous schedule begins. I've posted our itinerary in this blog so you can follow along, and I'll do my best to post something most days depending on how good the internet is in the hotels we stay at.
Thanks for following. Shalom. God is good all the time!
