Sometimes humility and fear of man can look similar on the exterior, but they are very different. Humility puts others first because the love of God rules our hearts. Fear can cause us to do the same, but with very different results. Love breaks down walls and builds relationship. Fear puts up walls and destroys relationships.
Think about the difference between Saul and Gideon. Both had fear, but they responded very differently to it with vastly different outcomes. Gideon let God be his hero.
