Key Passage: Habakkuk
"How often do we get stuck looking at our circumstances and forget that there is a bigger picture going on around us than what we can see? Habakkuk was living in a time when his home had been invaded and everything around him was in ruins. When he looked around, he could not see God in his circumstances and did not feel like God was listening. “The world’s a mess and you’re doing nothing about it.” Habakkuk cries out to God. God responds with “I am doing something - But you wouldn’t believe it if someone told you about it.” The book of Habakkuk reminds us of a really important tool that we need to keep on hand when sorting out our view of God. We need to lean back so that we can get a whole picture of what is true about God as we live in our present circumstances and look forward with hope."
