What is the nature of hell? Matthew 25:41 portrays hell as a place of eternal separation from God for those who reject Him. In other scriptures, Jesus describes hell as a place of fire and torment, which can be difficult for us to accept and understand. If hell is a real place, does that mean God is unfair or cruel, instead of loving? What is the appropriate punishment for sin?
