Where are you pretending?

In Acts 4:32-5:11, we see the early church breaking out in worship and working together to meet the community’s needs as they encounter God. What does this mean for us? Can we experience God in this way? In our community of believers? If so, what would it look like? In the early church, we see authentic gathering and scattering practices by the early believers after experiencing God’s power and presence. However, our attention is also drawn to the deceptive actions of Ananias and Sapphira, who held back and lied about their contribution, resulting in dire consequences. In other words, we also need to examine our own authenticity in worship and service, pondering where we might be pretending or holding back. Ultimately, it’s a call to embrace transparency, integrity, and wholehearted devotion in worship and work, as we see in the early church. Please pray for Pastor Steve and the team as they prepare the service. We are looking forward to what God is going to do this Sunday!
